About ewz.selection

ewz.selection is the Swiss platform for professional photography. With its Preview Day, Swiss Portfolio Day and Photo Collection, it lends visual media professionals support and provides them with a network.  It has been raising public awareness of photography since 1997 by means of its award, its exhibition, its catalogue and other features.

ewz.selection grew out of a working group within vfg association of creative photographers. The aim of the vfg working group was to strengthen the position of professional photography, and raise public awareness of photography in general, by awarding a prize. The main proponents at the time were Reto Pedrini, Lucia Degonda and Jérôme Bischler, all vfg members.

In 2003 Lucia Degonda, Jérôme Bischler and Romano Zerbini founded 3view GmbH, which has since worked closely with the association of creative photographers to develop the award process into a proper platform for Swiss photography.

In 2007 ewz enhanced its involvement with The Selection vfg, as the photo award process had come to be known in early 1998. The partnership, which marked the rebirth of the photography platform, establishes a firm foundation for its continued existence in years to come.

Today, ewz.selection has grown from a photography competition into a range of services for photographers, visual media agents and commercial exponents of photography, as well as for photography amateurs and enthusiasts among the general public.
